MAB Facilities Management LLC is pleased to announce the establishment of a Joint Venture with URBASER S.A., a leading Spanish Company in the waste management services, and the award of the “House Keeping and Waste Management Services of the city of Aqaba – Jordan” to the JV. The contract period is three years (extendable for another 3 years), and started on 1st February, 2021. 

This project is of significant importance for many reasons. First, it adds a new vertical to MAB’s already growing IFM business model, taking MAB a step further towards covering the whole FM services spectrum. Second, it is the only outsourced citywide housekeeping contract in Jordan, which creates opportunity for MAB to expand into other cities within Jordan as s first step, and further into the region. Third, it represents a big leap for our branch in Jordan in terms of expansion.

Aqaba city is the first free zone concept in Jordan. It also gains its strategic value through being the sole sea port of Jordan. Located in the furthest point in the south of Jordan, it is weather attracts tourists all year long, and is the home to all international brand hotels and resorts.

Under this contract, MAB – URBASER JV is responsible for the provision of housekeeping and waste management services. This includes: Street cleaning through an army of sweepers, in addition to road sweeper vehicles, beach cleaning, waste collection, waste disposal. The project employs circa 350 personnel.

The contract period is for five years, starting on 1st March, 2021. Under this contract, MAB is responsible for provision of integrated facilities management services including: project handover, MEP, cleaning, security, concierge and specialist services in all common areas, back of house, office areas, promenade, external and master community areas, swimming pools, playground area and car parks.

It is indeed a great beginning of this year with acquiring a brand new client and a project in our portfolio.

We’re pleased to announce the award of the “Cleaning and Security Services for the U.S. Pavilion Expo 2020” for The United State of America. MAB is appointed as a service provider for the pre-event period of Expo 2020. This is the first Expo to be held in the Middle East, this largest global event dedicated to finding solutions to fundamental challenges facing humanity. Organized and facilitated by governments and bringing together countries and international organizations, Expo 2020 is unrivalled in its ability to gather millions of visitors, create new dynamics and catalyze change in its host city. The U.S Pavilion is ideally positioned adjacent to the highly popular UAE, Saudi Arabia and India Pavilions. 

In addition to this, neighbouring Al Forsan Park will be a high traffic area with shows. 27,000 daily visitors anticipated to visit the U.S Pavilion, forecasted 5m+ attending during the six-month event. Although it is a short-term project, yet it has valuable impact to our brand considering how prestigious the client we have, who entrusts the service to us.

MAB will demonstrate our philosophy of delivering world class sustainable facilities management services leveraging the latest technology and innovations. We will implement a high impact, low visibility cleaning and security regime to enhance the visitor experience at Expo 2020.
